Sector leaders analyze the opportunities in the crisis
Nonprofit and foundation leaders gathered at Consulting Within Reach (CWR) Building Capacity for Individual Fundraising event to hear a presentation on how the financial crisis will fundamentally change the sector.
In particular, CWR CEO Curtis Chang believes that the change in the "ecology of funding" means an entirely different set of organizational traits must now be developed. Chang emphasized that for those willing to invest in the capacity to adapt, there actually will be outsized opportunities to take great leaps in long term sustainability and impact.
The event marked the first initiative of the Capacity Collaborative. Several organizations like Draper Richards Foundation, Frieda C. Fox Foundation, Year Up, Bay Area Women's Sports Initiative, and others joined the Collaborative on the spot and many more expressed strong intention to do so.
