Experiments in database implementation

Almost all nonprofits need to be able to track data on their donors. Can we help each other build the capacity to do so?

One of the core tenets of the Capacity Collaborative is that each nonprofit should not have to reinvent the wheel, make its own mistakes, and learn its own lessons.  We believe one area that is ripe for this kind of collaboration is in the implementation of databases.

Even though organizations don't want to share the same donors, they do share the need for a similar type of database.  Consulting Within Reach, the catalyst of the Collaborative, is working with the Silicon Valley Community Foundation to implement  the industry leading Salesforce solution for several of its grantees.  Because the work is happening simultaneously, economies of scale and cost savings are being achieved.  Read here for more on the project.
